Hemis National Park, a high-elevation national park near Hemis in the Leh district of Ladakh in India, is located 50 km (31 mi) from Leh town, the capitals of Ladakh. Globally famous for its endangered snow leopards, it has the highest density of them in any protected area in the world. The park is also home to a number of other endangered mammal species.
